7 DAYS MACHAME ROUTE
7-day Machame Route is perhaps the most popular climbing route. It is the choice for many people because it provides impressive views and a variety of habitats. Unlike the gradual incline and hut accommodations found on the 7-day Machame Route, the climbers on Machame hike steeper trails, for longer distances and sleep in tents. The Machame Route is approximately 62 km/ 37 miles from gate to gate. It is designed for physically fit people with some hiking experience. Book your 7-day Machame Route with us today

The day before, we will have collected you from the airport and driven you to your accommodation in Arusha. There will be a briefing and equipment check during this evening. The drive from Arusha to the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park Gate takes about 2 hours. The journey passes through the village of Machame which is located on the lower slopes of the mountain.
We now leave the park gate and walk through the rain forest on a winding trail up a rige. Lower down, the trail can be muddy and slippery. Gaiters and trekking poles are a good idea here. We continue a short distance until we reach the Machame Camp.

Very early in the morning (midnight to 2am), we continue our way to the summit between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. At Stella Point (18,600 ft), you will stop for a short rest and will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you are ever likely to see (weather permitting). From Stella Point, you may encounter snow all they way on your 1-hour ascent to the summit. At Uhuru Peak, you have reached the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the continent of Africa. Faster hikers will see the sunrise from the summit.
Now make our descent continuing straight down to the Mweka Hut camp site, stopping at Barafu for lunch. You will want gaiters and trekking poles for the loose gravel going down. Mweka Camp is situated in the upper forest. Later in the evening, we enjoy our last dinner on the mountain and a well-earned sleep.

EXCELLENTBased on 145 reviewsVerifiedfalu k2024-06-16Perfect, Amazing, Outstanding! Mustafa was great to work with. He was very accommodating with everything. Our flight was delayed to Arusha and we were connected with him via whatsapp. He had Amani our driver ready at the Arusha airport when we landed. Mustafa sent home cooked meal for our lunch for the first day and it was very thoughtful of him. Delicious meal it was. Amani was amazing. He always worried about our 86 yr old mom who was with us during the safari. He made every effort to find the big 5 animals during our safari. We had a great time during our safari. We would highly recommend Mustafa and Amani.VerifiedTony Busuttil2024-06-15Super Safari The safaris organised by Bobby and very ably guided by Amani were brilliant. Marco CastelliVerifiedExcursion598105598742024-03-30Amazing Safari - the big five completed ☑️ My friends and I (6 of us) had an amazing unforgettable experience. We went on the camping Safari for 4 days (3 nights) - Lake Maynara, Serengeti, N’gorongoro Crater. We saw so many animals! We got super lucky and even saw two cheetahs and two leopards up close. The tents were very comfortable and the food was good (we had the vegetarian option) prepared by our cook Miraj. Our tour guide Amani was friendly and very knowledgeable; he was very patient and explained many things about the park and animals, and answered so many of our questions. Sometimes it was a bit scary hearing the lions and buffalos fairly close to our tents, but we felt very safe on the whole and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience camping in the wild. I greatly recommend this company, the communication and organization was very easy with the owner of the company and the price was very fair. Thanks to all for the experience.VerifiedVenture586057342292024-03-02Amazing safaris in Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Manyara We had an unforgettable week-long safari in Tanzania. Our guide Amani was great and really went out of his way to show us everything we wanted. We were lucky enough to even see rare rhinos, a leopard eating an antelope in the treetop, and also two beautiful cheetahs. Likewise, the cook did his job well and adapted the food to our requirements - one member of the group was a vegetarian. I hope to return one day and have this great experience again. Thank you!VerifiedNienke d2024-02-26Amazing safari We had an amazing experience! Our guide (Amani) really did his best to show us all the animals in the Serengeti and ngorongoro, and he knew a lot about the animals and parks too. The cook made a lot of good food as well.VerifiedJiří T2024-02-20Safari in Tanzania national parks Really blasting experiance, we have seen it all - elephants, buffalos, lions, leopard, rhino and many more animals. Mr. Murtaza with Bobby Safaris will be the best decision for you.VerifiedZdenek D2024-02-15Hundreds of Tanzanian birds photographed, few times more to go... Well-arranged trips in Feb. 2023 and Jan. 2024 to several National Parks - from Arusha to Serengeti and Ngorongoro (repeating the same trip of one of us in 2014). Excellent guides, as well as the cook. As university zoologists, we enjoyed high diversity of animals, plants, landscapes, and night voices of savanna in tents. Great experience and pleasure. Fun for bird photography (despite not ornitologists), we asked 'STOP!!!' hundred times a day... the guides were not only patient, but actively helped us find even the smallest birds around... In result - about 140 bird species photographed in 2023, and 100 new additions in 2024 - both during 8-day trips...!
